The current pharmacological management approach to treating PsA is often not successful in isolation. Here, the case of a 46-year-old woman with PsA is presented. The patient underwent a medically supervised, water-only fast and began an exclusively whole plant foods diet free of added sugar, oil, and salt. The patient discontinued the use of corticosteroids and achieved a significant reduction and eventual elimination of PsA symptoms. This case demonstrates the need for further research on the effects of medically supervised water-only fasting in cases of psoriatic arthritis.
ER -
